An allotment site which was set up in a little used car park at Clifton Down has been extended.
A mains water dipping tank has been installed and connected thanks to a £17,000 grant from Bristol City Council.
The grant comes from the city council’s Community Infrastructure levy which is charged on new developments. It is used to fund public facilities which support growth in the city.

“Alongside the new water system, we’ve also installed more than 40 new planters besides the existing ones creating even more space for growing and making the site more welcoming for everyone. I can’t believe how the site has blossomed in a such a short amount of time,” said Merche Clarke, a member of the Growing Space team.
“With a growing interest in food cultivation and a significant demand for allotments in Bristol, this project presents an opportunity for people to develop their gardening skills” she said.
