Documentary photographer and photo-journalist Martin Parr, who died last year aged 73, is to be commemorated by a plaque to be fixed to the exterior of his home in Clifton.
He was best known for his satirical and intimate depictions of modern life. He had been working on a camera shoot in Italy two days before his death at his home.
A green plaque donated by the Clifton and Hotwells Society (CHIS) will be dedicated at his home in The Polygon by Peaches Golding, Lord Lieutenant of Bristol, on November 21 at 11 a.m.
During his lifetime Martin Parr was recognised by many institutions including the University of Wales where he was Professor of photography.
In 2015 the Martin Parr Foundation, a charity based in Bristol, was set up. It houses his personal archive, and his collection of photographs alongside the work of other photographers.
