‘Wonderful lovely vibe’ at Clifton Village day

Crowds packed the main shopping streets of Clifton Village for the second annual Village Day.

Shoppers and their families were treated to everything from face painting for children to vintage style musical performances.  A singe-decker  heritage bus was giving free rides from Long Ashton to Clifton Village.

Clifton Rotary Club had set up a Speakers Corner in Princess Victoria Street  inviting young people  to step on to a specially built platform and address the shoppers. Rotary members were also offering free blood pressure tests.

The Village Day event was organised by BID (Business Improvement District) Clifton aimed at getting people from all over Bristol to visit the area and discover what was on offer at the many independent shops and restaurants.

“We couldn’t be happier with the results.  The event brought in many new customers, and the atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic.  People truly enjoyed themselves. They danced, connected  with each other and created a wonderful lovely vibe,” said a spokesperson for Fish Tales restaurant in The Mall.

Various restaurants had set up stalls outside their premises  displaying everything from Cornish oysters to sea food pasta.

Providing music and songs were the D-Day Dollies duo who entertained the crowds with their vintage-style musical performances at the entrance to The Ivy restaurant in The Mall.
